What´s up with the atheists who admit that religion is a product of evolution *which enhances human community and therefore plays a positive evolutionary role* (while still being false)?
Shouldn´t these people either kill themselves by
jumping into the Susquehanna, or start pretending that they are religious according
to the Platonist-Straussian concept of a “noble lie”?
Yes, they
should. And yet, they continue being overt atheists, sperging about it on
social media platforms, and apparently trying to deconvert people to join their
atheist-materialist lack-of-belief subculture.
In other words,
they are nihilists.
The atheists just won "the Darwin Awards". That´s not a compliment, btw...
ReplyDeleteSure wonder how many atheists will be left around 2100 AD? Not many, I think, since (ig)noble lies or religions will probably be more popular coinage than open cries of "we blew it, might as well jump into that overheated river over there".
ReplyDeleteAll atheists (except a few senile stalwarts) will convert to the Religion of AI and Cyberpunk, desperately hoping for Zucc to finally create that Meta-Cloud they can enter to save their asses from the very real consequences of cornucopian materialism.
ReplyDeleteYah, a sorry state of affairs. One can only wonder what will be left in the 22nd century. I honestly think world populations will decrease due to various factors, climate changes, brutal war and destruction due to collapsing food supplies, not to mention water shortages. After humanoids kill each other off the few remaining will only hear how in the past there was such a thing as the internet and how social media led to divisiveness and narcissistic endeavors that destroyed democracy and paved the way for the "safety and sanity" of our authoritarian Regime! Thank you very much!
ReplyDeleteFact check: mostly true (unfortunately). Except that maybe there won´t even be an authoritarian regime, but only war bands and chaos!
ReplyDeleteYah so noted. Over here we're supposed to load up on 1 ounce silver rounds (for trade?) and stockpile months worth of rations so we can survive the chaos. But to what end? Reminds me of the 1983 TV movie The Day After. Grim stuff. Oh, welcome Sweden to NATO soon?
DeleteUnless Erdogan wants some new concession from whoever he thinks he is negotiating with...
ReplyDeleteOne more cause for alarm is the warming of both the Arctic Ocean and the Antarctic continent. It becomes a self generating heat phenomenon as ice turns to water and instead of reflecting sunlight away from Earth, it warms the ocean and more ice melts ad infinitum. How has the daily temperature changed in Scandinavia?

A excellent post I sadly overlooked, and not one comment. You have something like 310 climate referenced blogs. The above post should be updated and brought to the attention of the greater public. Oh, in Asian languages the surname comes first, like Command Ashtar instead of Ashtar Command - not too ironic eh? :-} I used up my free articles in the Aftonbladet but I suspect the Something Scary Is Growing beneath the Sea points to the underlying currents that keep methane frozen. Leo DiCaprio and Thom Hartmann (whom I listen to daily on various progressive radio stations and streamed everywhere) made an informative video on same. So yeah, methane bubbles coming to the surface are yet another major looming catastrophe. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2bRrg96UtMc
ReplyDeleteAn excessive heat warning issued for central Arizona through Friday, afternoon temperatures of 43.8 to 47.2 Celsius. If you fall on the pavement or walk around barefoot you have 2nd degree burns. It's currently 45 C at Noon MST (GMT -7)
ReplyDeleteI don´t rule out an apocalyptic scenario, but since such scenarios (both religious and secular) are usually wrong, what we will probably get instead is a long decline with local "apocalypses" along the way...as we have already. At some point, even the long decline will become impossible to manage/mitigate.
ReplyDeleteAs for Aftonbladet, some of their articles are free, others are locked, still others are free at first but then locked later (a very annoying habit since I sometimes link to these articles, and then can´t read them myself either!).
