How is the above different from a faith commitment? Since elementary particles, suitably combined, can walk, talk, think and feel (you know, become Homo sapiens), we can...you guessed it...upload our consciousness into a computer and hence survive death.
I quite often get the feeling that atheists-materialists really don´t like living in an atheist-materialist cosmos (aint that just tuff), so they need to come up with various fanciful methods of salvation from it! And strangely enough, the mostly-deterministic but sometimes-random and always-blind materialist universe always provides the ateista with exactly the outcome he or she wants...
How is that different from the religious attitude the atheists always attack?
