Against catastrophism right and left

Michael Tracey, independent reporter and Twitter gadfly, tries to fill the lone role of "voice of reason in 2020" in the article linked below. It´s mostly a criticism of Democrat identity politics and apocalyptic anti-Trump rhetoric, but with some attacks on Trump and the GOP thrown in for good measure. 

Tracey supported Tulsi Gabbard in the Democrat primaries, but today sounds like a somewhat exotic pseudo-supporter of Joe Biden. His main point is that the elections in November are a BAU choice between two candidates that are really quite similar, that American democracy is not under threat, and that the majority of voters (including Democrat voters) have already rejected the identity politics of the liberal elites. 

I´m not sure if I agree with Tracey´s moderate posture, but the article is interesting in its own right. Enjoy!
