Richard Carrier´s latest blog post, on why we probably don´t live in a simulation.
As a consistent atheist, Carrier easily spots the similarity between theism/Intelligent Design and "sim theory". He then uses similar (pun intended) arguments against both.
I admit that I´m not entirely convinced. Sure, we don´t live in a literal Matrix-like "sim", but of course the universe could be the result of an intelligence the motives of which are unfathomable to mere humans.
And that´s what we call God. Or the Devil´s grandmother...
