Are we finally approaching the endgame?
Fatah (which controls the Palestinian Authority) is clearly no longer interested in forming a coalition government with Hamas, instead blaming the destruction in Gaza on them and Iran. Fatah is also trying to suppress pro-Hamas networks on the West Bank. Presumably, Fatah has broken with China (which negotiated a coalition agreement between them and Hamas) and is moving closer to the United States.
With Trump as US president, Israel will have all the resources it needs to fight the Hamas terrorists in Gaza. It therefore makes sense for Fatah to jockey for the position of post-war overlords over the territory. The reactions from Syria and Turkey might be interesting.
