Not sure if I linked to this before, but I think Brad makes a lot of sense here. Yes, our perceptions might be "products of the brain" whatever, but if so...isn´t the brain fundamentally mysterious?
How can a lump of matter give rise to love, hate, meaning, spirituality...or even the seemingly mundane "outside world" (which in a sense doesn´t even exist)? Or, to quote Brad´s favorite line from "Star Trek": Brain and brain, what is brain?!
Note also that Brad´s Zen master often explained mystical experiences in terms of reactions in the human nervous system...
