Some kind of "Burnham vibes" in this one. "The liberal is a born traitor".
But note that the psychological types described don´t seem to match what most people would call "conservative" and "liberal". You might as well call these types collectivist and individualist, respectively. Many Communists, for instance, would count as "conservative" by these definitions. And many free market types would count as "liberal"!
Free market proponents also support the out-group against the in-group to enhance their power, for instance by promoting "free trade" across national borders even if its detrimental to your own nation. Many support free immigration, as well...
Note also that nothing stops an "isolationist" tribe or community from being internally egalitarian.
So Dutton´s way of spinning the situation may fit the present political line ups very well, but there is surely a big picture here, somewhere, waiting to be seen.
