Most of this foray into fantastic (pseudo)archeology feels very "1970´s" and "Erich von Däniken". Still, it´s quite entertaining. The stories mentioned (and later debunked) are of a very varied nature. Some are true but have been exaggerated by the enthusiasts. Others are outright hoaxes. Still others are very, very weird. Note the Silurian hypothesis-type speculations at the end.
My favorite is the story surrounding the book "Sungods in exile" by David Gamon. It was apparently intended as satire - a kind of Däniken parody - but was misinterpreted as real by many people. The idea that dimunitive space aliens called the Dropa had crashed in Tibet and still lived there in some cave apparently became part of the UFO weirdlore subculture, until the whole thing was exposed by Gamon himself in a 1995 interview with "Fortean Times" magazine. "My only regret was that the book didn´t sell more". Dude!
