I´m not sure if I ever linked to John Michael Greer´s extravaganza "The Next Ten Billion Years", but if I have, here we go again. This is a tie-in of sorts to that other classical essay of his, "An Afternoon in Early Autumn".

ReplyDeleteI realize it´s science fiction (although with a serious intent), but my nerd side finds it implausible that a "global civilization" could rise again after 1,000 years of destruction, decline and climate change.
ReplyDeleteThe raccoons and "corvins", on the other hand, are perfectly believable, for what its worth.
My personal vision would rather include a race of highly evolved whales that spend tens of millions of years just swimming around in the oceans, doing nothing in particular.
