While you were sleeping

This is going to sound strange but...

It seems Christian unity was achieved in 1999, 2006 and 2017!!!???

Essentially, the Protestant Reformation has been cancelled (and, hopefully, the Counter-Reformation with it). Funny nobody noticed, but I suppose our hardened hearts make it impossible to take in the good news, pun very much intended.

Here we stand, and can do no other. Still, I wonder what took them so long? I mean, we could have avoided, say, the St Bartholomew´s  Day Massacre, the Thirty Year War or the Battle of the Boyne!

And now...what?

  1. Well, they still have to sort out in what sense Christ is present in the bread and wine during Holy Communion, not to mention the ordination of female clergy, homosexuality, transgenderism, and the occasional baptism of dogs, not to mention Pachamama and the ecumenical dialogue with Islam, Buddhism, Shintoism and Voodoo, so I say there is still a lot of hot button topics that militates against a united Christianity. And oh, the Lutherans don´t accept the Deuterocanonicals as, well, canonical.

  2. I learned a lot of new, weird stuff today while browsing Wiki. Apparently, there is a small Lutheran church in the Ukraine that uses the Byzantine liturgy. Also, a Douchobor group in Canada called the Sons of Freedom turned to arson and nudity to attack other Douchobor factions, or the proper authorities. And on April 6, Lutheran churches are supposed to commemorate Albrecht Dührer! Yes, the painter...

  3. Something tells me a joint statement with the Theosophical Society about LCC apostolic succession is out of the question?

  4. So the Reformation and the Catholic/Protestant split was just one huge misunderstanding?
