Everyone to the right of Tamberlane is complaining about Emma´s two moms, but what struck me were a couple of other things.
First, Emma seems to have an extremely privileged background. She graduated at the top of her class, joined the best sorority in college, and has a friend who climbed Mount Everest (which can´t have been cheap). As a child, she took ballet and music lessons. Emma even calls this "a fairly typical childhood"! She is almost explicitly the stereotypical rich bored young woman who needs to go on an "adventure". Finally, our heroine finds it. Her adventure is...the military!
Second, I noticed that this upper class girl is supposedly an activist for freedom and equality, since she joined gay marches at a very early age. So the "Russian bots" weren´t completely wrong when they suggested that SJWs want Hillary Clinton to "draft our daughters"...
No workers fighting for labor unions anywhere in sight. (If you´re Red, insert any American invasion of a Latin American banana republic here.)
Het Girls! Never have any kids of your own. Much easier för you to fight our imperialist wars then. You cant Always adopt kids if you sutvive your militaey career. Dont wanna have any of ypur own then either. God knows what toxins you have been exposed to at the front lines. Dont want any gulf war babies, do we?
