Not if. When!

  1. I originally assumed that China would wait until the 2030´s (at the earliest) before taking Taiwan, but what´s the point of waiting if the United States is down for counting and has a weak president? Also, Japan probably can´t do much either. The only problem is that the anti-Beijing "liberal" DPP is by far the strongest party on Taiwan, so any invasion would have to be followed by a brutal occupation. Maybe China doesn´t want to risk another semi-rebellious province within its borders?

  2. How many nations are *really* willing to die for Taiwan, if China decides that it´s time to take it?

  3. I´m old enough to remember when all the anti-Chinese liberals flipped overnight and became pro-Chinese just because Trump called the Taiwanese president shortly after his election.

At the moment, they are anti-Chinese (since Biden is), but the above suggests they could easily flip again...

  4. I´m old enough to remember when all liberals supported TikTok since some K-Pop fans had trolled The Donald.

  5. It seems China "supported globalism" the way a rope "supports" a hanged man...

  6. A dramatic illustration of the fact that a Communist system can outwit a capitalist one, if only the Coms learn to think more like caps...

  7. The profit-motive is a dangerous thing. Like when Venice sold weapons and timber (used to build war ships) to the Muslims during the crusades...
