The tiny fraction of a percentage of the universe certifiably suitable for life just got a little bit larger. Maybe.
I kind of missed this news item (it´s from 2023), but I´m not surprised that it was the James Webb Telescope that made this potentially earth-shaking (pun intended) discovery. An exoplanet with the unimaginative name K2-18b may have signs of life in its atmosphere. If true, probably something like phytoplankton may live in its vast oceans.
Who knows, if we send a probe to this world, maybe fish-like creatures will have evolved when our gadget finally reaches it? Or maybe not, since it would probably take over 2 million years and evolution simply isn´t that fast, LOL.
