If El Salvador (that´s El Salvador, for crying out loud) can crack down on gangs and reduce homicides with 70%, why can´t the United States? Or Sweden, for that matter? Or, if you think those are unfair comparisons, why can´t Mexico?
Nayib Bukele, El Salvador´s (de facto) president is set to be (de facto) re-elected with a stunning 82% of the vote, according to opinion polls. Getting so many votes in a really free election should be more or less impossible. Getting *re-elected* by those numbers should be science fiction.
And yet, here we are.
Note Ilhan Omar´s veiled call for regime change in El Salvador. What did Bukele do to ruffle her feathers? Did he actually recognize Somaliland or something?
