Is it just me or has ChatGPT deteriorated really badly the last couple of weeks or so? The free version, obviously. But nah, I´m not paying for any upgrades. YOU GOTTA BE KIDDING MY AZZ. At the moment, I actually get better responses from Gemini, and I can´t say I trust that system very much either!
Maybe it´s time to simply leave the LLMs to their (inevitable) fate and move on. Or rather move back...to books published before the LLM era. Or in a really tight spot, even Wikipedia. Never thought I would say *that* in a lifetime...
But sure, it was fun while it lasted. Really.
Really apropos of a funny interview I heard on a radio talk show. Why a GenX substack writer is breaking up with ChatGPT in favor of Claude.

Wow, she was much deeper into it than I ever was. Sounds almost a bit "autistic". And it sounds funny that she is breaking up with ChatGPT in favor of Claude...since that´s a personal name in French!
ReplyDeleteThe actual audio interview (Matt McNeil Show from Minnesota AM950) wherein she discusses the "relationship" suggested that yeah, she was waay too involved with her bot mentor. But that is a thing here at least. People starving for "strokes" which the AI readily applies. Reminds me of the old days of consulting the I Ching daily and the resultant addictions. The other issue being the political alignment of the corporations of course.
