Sometimes I wonder what Gemini is training on. In this picture, it looks as if the Goddess is worshipping Ganesha (strictly speaking Bhakti Ganapati), but in reality, it´s of course the other way around. When you worship the Goddess, you have to start by invoking Ganesha first, but that´s because he is "lower". 

But then, the goddess in the picture is the playful child-form (Bala or Bala Tripura Sundari), so it makes some sense that she is "playing" Ganesh by pretending to worship him. And yes, the banana is traditional.
