Trump wants to appoint Tulsi Gabbard to the position of DNI.
Not sure what the Director of National Intelligence really does that the CIA or FBI can´t do themselves, but since Gabbard is (as far as I know) still a member of "Science of Identity", I wouldn´t let her near any classified information. How do we know it won´t end up in the hands of Chris Butler?!

DeleteThe most interesting claim is that Gabbard supports Israel against Hamas, which would align her position to those of Trump *and* the Indian BJP. But according to Michael Tracey, Gabbard was a critic of Israel during her 2020 campaign. She called for a two-state solution! So this would make Gabbard both "pro-Russian" and pro-Israeli, a relatively unusual position (at least outside India). I think!
ReplyDeleteNot sure what Trump is playing at. Either he wants hardcore Trumpists at the AG and DNI positions, to help him go after personal adversaries, or it´s his usual tactic of divide-and-rule, appointing people from different factions to the administration. As in 2016, when he appointed both Rhynce Priebus and Steven Bannon to important posts in the WH. His divide-and-rule tactics (which he apparently used already as a bizniz tycoon in NYC during the 1980´s) doesn´t seem to work in politics, however. It usually ends with chaos...
