I had a *really* bizarre dream just now. Obviously triggered by watching a video featuring a certain Professor Dave. In the dream, Dave was narrating a video about a personal visit to a Hindu temple, specifically the "Ritvik" temple in Bangalore. He said that he appreciated the hospitality and respects the god (i.e. Venkateshvara) worshipped in this particular temple, while still considering the "Hare Krishna" to be "very far out" (the "Ritviks" are a breakaway faction from the ISKCON and still use the ISKCON moniker).
WTF???!!!
My dreamy mind was obviously combining wake knowledge of Dave´s extremely rude skepticism with memories of a "Ritvik" YouTube video showing a ritual from their Bangalore temple. The juxtaposition was almost insane. I mean, I didn´t know I had ironic dreams! Even more strangely, Dream-Dave said he was quoting *me* when describing the Hare Krishna as "far out". Well, they *are* far out, so I suppose it´s possible that I actually wrote that somewhere on this blog...
Maybe the dream had a secret message, but obviously not to Dave (who will ROFL if he ever reads this), but to me. I assume the message reads: "Respect all religions even those you consider far out, respect all gods even those you can´t or won´t worship yourself".
I admit that level of tolerance sounds very, very hard to accomplish. I mean, there are 10,000 different religions. Many of them reeeeeally far out. But there you go.
