In a recent blog post, I speculated that perhaps Shiva and Shakti (in some form) are the two oldest deities still worshipped by man. And, I suppose, woman. This based on archeological discoveries at various sites in India. 

But what kind of peoples lived in South Asia 10,000 years ago? Turns out they are called Ancient Ancestral South Indians (AASI). They may or may not be related to...Negritos?! So the original "Shaivas" and "Shaktas" may have looked like the female above, who hails from the Andaman Islands.

Staggering stuff. Shiva´s dance is more crazy than expected!
