I can´t find it again, but I just saw a survey on YouTube which I think asked the question "which of these four events do you find most scary", the four events in question being 1) a human extinction event; 2) contact with superior aliens; 3) we are alone in the universe; and 4) the entire universe goes under.
Thousands responded to the survey. To me, number two is the most scary (at least on a Sunday 2pm CET), but only 16% did the same, making it the least popular answer. Most went for number one (human extinction event). But why is that more scary than being enslaved FOREVER by evil mantoid alien overlords, huh huh???
