Overheard on my own blog: "People become atheists because enormous woods of fern-like trees from the Carboniferous were preserved as coal deep underground. Then, some British homo (sapiens) found a way to exploit it for a profit, and presto!".
As in: the Industrial Revolution disenchanted the world...
