At home in Makerfield

The candidates of the Monster Raving Loony Party...kidding!

Some news from Old Blighty. The results in the Makerfield by-election aren´t in yet, but some kind of polls predict a win for Labour candidate Andy Burnham. Nobody can place Makerfield on a map, but if Burnham wins, he might challenge Keir Starmer for the position of Labour leader (and Prime Minister). So in *that* sense, I suppose the by-election might be important.

And then there´s Reform...

The polls I´m referencing strongly suggest that the far right split from Reform, Restore, is acting as a "spoiler", splitting the Reform vote and hence enabling a Labour victory. Yet, Restore activistas see their projected result (between 5% and 7%) as a stunning success?!

LOL. It´s pretty damn obvious how *this* is going to end...
