The Lady of All Nations?

The link below is to an article about a very curious Marian apparition.

It's modern (1994), Australian and...Anglican! On the one hand, the town of Yankalilla is associated with conservative High Church Anglicanism and Anglo-Catholicism. On the other hand, the weird "apparition" (really a seeming picture of Mary in plaster on one of the Church walls) have attracted ecumenical interest.

The rituals at the site have included Charismatic, Catholic, Anglican and Buddhist elements. Some have connected the apparition to the Aborigines, believing it to be a message of reconciliation with the Aboriginal community. Others believe that the plasterwork picture also shows an Australian Catholic saint in addition to Mary.

Meanwhile, outside the church, a statue of Mary has attracted the attention of really real Catholics from Yankalilla's Indian community.

Other miracles have also been reported at the church. These include actual visions of Mary. Jesus or mysterious personages have appeared in photos taken at the site. Some of Mary's messages mentions the British princess Diana, who was popular in New Age circles!

It seems that Mary has become all things to all people. Maybe she is the Lady of All Nations, after all...
