I never read Peter Mt Shasta´s books, but in the YouTube clip above he retells the most pivotal part of his spiritual quest. As a young man who looked like a hippie version of Jesus, Peter encountered Ascended Master Saint Germain in the Muir Woods, California. At first, Saint Germain looked like an ordinary hiker...
Later, he was sent to the town of Mount Shasta, at the flanks of the mountain of the same name. At the time, Mount Shasta wasn´t the New Age-related site it became later. At one point, Peter had to enter a working class-dominated diner with a huge sign saying "No hippies allowed"! Still, he seems to have met his guru, Pearl Dorris, in this small town. She taught him a version of the I AM Teachings of Guy Ballard, who do indeed center on Saint Germain (another well known version is associated with Elizabeth Clare Prophet). Note that Ballard claimed to have met Saint Germain during a hike on Mount Shasta back in 1930. Pearl had apparently been associated with Ballard back in the days.
The message does seem to have *some* unfortunate aspects, such as Peter Mt Shasta (yes, he is named after the mountain) looking at Sai Baba as one of his masters, or his later claim that he met the space alien Semjase and was offered a ride in her UFO. Still, the old man does look sympathetic enough. The teachings on offer sound like the I AM Activity with a stronger "Tibetan" flavor, but minus the unfortunate political overtones of Ballard and Prophet.
In some strange sense, Peter Mt Shasta has become part of the lore surrounding the old Californian volcano...
