Some Tantrikas and shamans actually *wanted* to become yoginis / dakinis (the line between them seems rather porous), flying through the air and espousing other paranormal powers (siddhis). Entire temples are dedicated to this in India, apparently. Imagine having fairy temples or temples dedicated to Lussi or Frau Hölle in Europe, woooow.
