Actually, the speaker is correct. The Mass is a performative act, the Rite, or ritual, is as a sacred gesture and the language used is secondary. Funny how the closed captions use missle for missal and rights for rites! But yes here in N America at least the tension continues between post Vatican 2 methods and Tridentine Mass.
I agree, but at least on the web, there is a constant obsession with the Latin language (hence "Latin" Mass). This used to confuse me, since I attended several Catholic masses in Latin! Novus Ordo masses, obviously.
Yes, in Tridentine Mass the priest faces East, his back to the congregation. Novus Ordo is what we have today, in English, Spanish etc. (and part German in my parish) as languages. Peace Be with You!
