J D Vance: Darwinist?

J D Vance apparently mentioned "Ordo Amoris" in some interview, stating that´s a Christian concept, und so weiter. Churchian, maybe. Jesus? The Sermon on the Mount, cough, cough, cough...

"Ordo Amoris" is a trivial principle, perfectly compatible with Judaism and paganism. Or even Darwin´s theory of evolution. Indeed, on evolutionary theory, genetic and reciprocal altruism are *expected* to be the norm. Don´t misunderstand me. "Ordo Amoris" might be true, or even necessary. But if *this* was Jesus´ teaching, the multitude wouldn´t have gasped in wonder at his words!

So essentially, J D Vance - who styles himself a conservative Catholic - just proved Charles Darwin right. How very ironic!

Theologians push back on J D Vance´s view on "ordered love"

J D Vance is wrong

  1. The last thing I need is to hear Vance preaching! Of course, new converts are uber enthusiastic about their newfound faith. Try Luke 17: 1-3 (Phillips trans) "Then Jesus said to his disciples, “It is inevitable that there should be pitfalls, but alas for the man who is responsible for them! It would be better for that man to have a mill-stone hung round his neck and be thrown into the sea, than that he should trip up one of these little ones. So be careful how you live."
