Too much winning

 

Can anyone please explain this to me...

Trump demands that the EU member-states pays more for their military defenses. He also demands that the EU sends peace-keeping forces to Ukraine in case of a peace agreement with Russia. No American forces will participate in the operation. And yes, he has kicked out the EU from the talks with Russia in Saudi Arabia.

In response, the EU member-states are huffing and puffing about the exclusion...while nevertheless promising to increase their military spending. They have also stated that they are willing to send peace-keepers to Ukraine. In other words, they are actually *doing exactly what Trump demands from them*.

As for Ukraine (which is also excluded from the talks in Saudi Arabia), Zelensky is calling on Europe to form its own unified pan-European military. He has implied that territorial concessions might be necessary (read: Crimea will remain Russian). And apparently the "colonialist" and Trump-proposed plan to swap Ukrainian rare earth minerals for economic aid was originally proposed by the Ukrainian government! 

So again I wonder: how is any of this not *actually* doing exactly what the United States wants, while pretending to protest loudly in the name of the "rules-based liberal world order" or whatever?
