The problem with his explanation is that there is a logic to Trump´s policy positions: America First nationalism. If that political logic works in the real world is something else again. His nationalism is so "literalist" that he begins by lashing out at his allies! You would think a smart nationalist would start with, ahem, his current enemies...
Somehow google has messed up my two accounts. But I agree. The point appears to be that Trump isn't that intelligent, overshadowed by flagrant narcissism (a view point that seems cliche at this time!) It's going to be a long four years, if he even lasts that long. Vance is another story. What legal challenges there are now to his executive orders will likely wind up before the Supreme Court. Who knows what they will decide. I am hoping that he "Constitutionalists" will vote to keep the Constitution! But we'll see... Meanwhile Musk has issued another order of compliance to federal workers, failure to do so means "you have resigned." And he's not even in a legitimate position or agency. Hoo Boy! https://www.reuters.com/world/us/musk-orders-us-federal-workers-report-work-or-get-fired-2025-02-22/
Just struck me that the other guy, Peter Thiel (who owns J D Vance), calls his business "Palantir"...named after the evil crystals in "Lord of the Rings" used by Sauron to brainwash Saruman...hmmm...
So noted in Crystal Ball. Can you imagine Vance as a world leader? I can't. That isn't his real name anyway...but it does appear to be a game of shadows...something Sauron was rather adept at playing.
Just thought I'd toss this in here, Finnish columnist Mikko Marttinen states the obvious take on Mr. Trump:
