The Aztec Empire never left
An interesting clip on the bizarre cult of "Santa Muerte" (Holy Death) in Mexico. Popularized academic material. It seems the Aztec Empire is still going strong...
I remember Leilah Wendell(the necrophile artist and "necromantic") writing about this when it was "new", Exept for having sex with corpses Wendell was rather PC in her worship of Azrael. She seemed kind of overjoyed at first by this death cult but seemed to not wanna mention it anymore when reports of present day child sacrafices etc came out. Wendell saw all religious death personifications as one and the same. I doubt the Santa Muerte worshippers agree.
I always liked her art but her erotic adventures in The catacombs were never my cup of tea to put it mildly.. And to call those activities "necromantic" was strange. The word should mean divination with the help of dead peoples spirits and nothing else.
