Everything comes from India

Except when it doesn´t. Praveen Mohan from "Ancient Aliens" speculates too much in this video. Because of course he does.

Please note that he presents *no* evidence that the Devil´s Horns symbol even existed before the Beatles, or that the Beatles got it from "the Babaji mudra", Mahavatar Babaji being a character invented by a modern Hindu lineage during the mid-19th century and popularized by Yogananda during the 1940´s. Nor is there any evidence that this group ever associated Babaji with the Devil´s Horns in the first place!

The picture in Mohan´s video of Babaji doing the devilish gesture is probably AI-generated. Look at all other pictures of Babaji on the web, they are quite different. Note also that Babaji does *not* make the mudra on the cover of the famous Beatles album "Sgt. Pepper´s Lonely Hearts Club Band". Yes, the Beatles knew about Babaji (presumably they had read Yogananda´s "Autobiography of a Yogi"!), but that doesn´t establish any connection.

So the Babaji mudra is new and has nothing to do with Babaji, who isn´t even a real historical figure. Indeed, he could be interpreted as a mysterious avatar of Shiva. During the 1980´s, Ronnie James Dio claimed that he had learned the gesture from his Italian grandmother, who used it to ward off the evil eye. If true, that would make the Devil´s Horns another example of White Boy Summer...

We now resume our regular programming.
