Friends in high places

 

It seems stories about friendly space brothers exist all over the world. Which doesn´t prove they are "real", of course. It may simply be American cultural influence. The tale above is from Italy and began in 1956, hence the contactees called themselves W56. The aliens were simply called The Friends. It´s the usual stuff: fear of nuclear war, a vaguely spiritual message, "we are not ready for contact", etc. The ending is somewhat peculiar, though. The Friends eventually gave up on humanity and simply left! 

But sure, that part of the story sounds almost believable...
