Electable
It seems Gavin Newsom wants to become the Democratic nominee in 2028. He wants to win, too! Interesting, I suppose...
Yes, in the democratic landscape he has an executive flair that will be appealing to many. As Governor of California, one of the world's largest economies (fifth at $3.9 trillion in 2023) he has interests in various wineries and restaurants! Former spouse Kimberly Guilfoyle! (Don Jr.s pal! ) Actually I would vote for him. If California is on the frontline as too woke, too green, too liberal; it must be hell to govern wisely. Also a former Mayor of San Francisco. I don't watch Charlie Kirk but as they say "hold your friends close and your enemies closer." Hence having a podcast to engage a far-righter as a way of opening up a dialogue to expose their views, using the current communication model (not legacy media) he shows he's up to date and ready to set sail for the Presidency. What an upset that will be!
And perhaps Shapiro? I don´t know much about Newsom, but I noted that he debated DeSantis when the latter was seen as a viable alternative to Trump. Maybe he could become a kind of centrist Bill Clinton character? On the GOP side, I expect Nikki Haley, Mike Pompeo and J D Vance to enter the fray. If the world is still here in 2028...

ReplyDeleteAha, but wait, the olympic summer games are in LA in 2028. So it´s Newsom. He´s gonna use it if he´s smart to promote himself bigly.
