Swedish TV just showed the recent meeting between Keir Starmer and the Belgian Prime Minister Bart De Wever. The flag of Belgium was clearly visible behind the Belgian PM. But behind Starmer, there was an *English* flag rather than a British one. That is, the flag of Saint George rather than the Union Jack.

Some new Trump stuff. Apparently, the POTUS wants to "permanently pause" (sic) all Third World immigration and deport millions of immigrants. He also threatens to arrest Joe Biden, at least by implication. Presumably, the immunity granted by "Sleepy Joe" to his son Hunter and to Anthony Fauci (yes, him) will be revoked.
Let´s see how much of *this* Trump will actually follow through on.
In other news, Witkoff is preparing to meet his banker in Moscow, while Hegseth (?) is threatening to kill narco-terrorists on land, not just on water. A coded way of saying that a war against Maduro really is under way? You know, that guy in Venezuela who is brokered by Witkoff´s Lord & Master...

The pro-Russian "military bloggers" have been waiting for a Russian "Zhukov offensive" in Ukraine for almost four years now. Sure, Russia might still win the war, but the reason would be slow, grinding wearing-down tactics, not some World War II-type offensive.
I mean, if the Russians had been capable of such, why wait four years? They certainly *did* go on relatively swift offensive in the Kursk region (with the help of North Korean military!), but it seems the momentum stopped pretty much at the old national border.
Instead, the Russian spooks have gone on a "Zhukov offensive" all their own, trying to trick Donald Trump through flattery (?) and dreams of economic gain (?) to hand over the Ukrainian defense wall in the Donbass to the Russians without a fight. That is, without an actual military offensive.
It´s almost as if the "military bloggers" are wrong or something.
Claim: the 28-point American "peace plan" for Ukraine was written by a secretive Russian envoy together with Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner. I assumed Kushner was part of the "pro-Western" and "interventionist" faction of the administration? Note also that both Witkoff and Kushner are Jewish. Why would two Jews side with Russia?
Has the Trump administration fallen victim to Russian "active measures" and been compromised?
According to other claims, the more anti-Russian Marco Rubio then took command of the situation, which explains why the new peace proposal (supposedly at least) is more to the liking of Ukraine, indeed have been negotiated with the Ukrainians themselves.
Trump´s deadline is Thursday, so I suppose we´ll know then. Or maybe we won´t. However, it certainly seems as if the US administration is badly split on the issue. Which frankly doesn´t come as a surprise...

Persistent rumors the last couple of days that a US attack on Venezuela is imminent. Or at least very close. Meanwhile, the Trump admin is trying *again* to extricate itself from the Ukrainian theatre by secret (!) negotiations with Russia. Which makes sense if we´re dealing with a crypto-isolationist administration only interested in dominating Latin America and the Caribbean (and, I suppose, Canada and Greenland).
How this squares with the constant threats against China is an interesting question. Watch the news for signs of a thaw or modus vivendi with the PRC, demands that Japan and South Korea pay for their defenses, et cetera.
The only anomaly in all this is Israel. Which of course raises eyebrows. Has the US-Israeli alliance gone from being strategic to becoming merely transactional? If so, the Jews seem to be very good at making those transactions. So far, at least.
2026 will probably be the year when the world realizes that Trump is weak outside his own chosen turf, and then we´ll see an insane stampede into an entirely new geopolitical situation. One that´s probably much worse for the Western alliance. Certainly for EU and the European wing of NATO.
Maybe this is the beginning of the end of the "American Century" and the American Empire.

Om detta stämmer är det i praktiken en amerikansk kapitulation för Ryssland. Helt obegripligt hur Trump kan tro att detta gör det enklare för honom att utmana Kina? I själva verket kommer raka motsatsen att inträffa: alla kommer att betrakta USA som försvagat. Sedan inträder geopolitiskt kaos. Eller en huggsexa. Det betyder också att ingen kommer att vara rädd för Trump längre. Jo, EU och USA:s europeiska NATO-allierade kanske. Men ingen annan.
Och även om kriget skulle fortsätta ändå (Trump kanske ändrar sig?) så kommer alla ända att betrakta honom, och särskilt hans främste sykofant Vance, som komprometterade.

This is pretty damn rich coming from Britain´s main ally during the 18th century, the Napoleonic Wars, World War I and World War II. Who is *really* in league with Perfidious Albion, I wonder?
I assume the Russian propaganda turn has something to do with the British being heavily invested in both NATO and the trans-atlantic link, so heavily that Russia see them as their main enemy at a time when Trump-Vance are gyrating back and forth over Ukraine, threatening NATO allies with war, and so on.
Note Breitbart´s strangely subliminal choice of illustration: a contemporary cartoon from the late 19th century of how Britain managed to obtain a disputed territory from Venezuela. Perhaps by corrupting or tricking Uncle Sam? Subliminal, but in the wrong way, since this act of Western imperialism could be seen as a legitimate causus belli for *Venezuela*!
