Intressant.

Wat means?

Just in. The United Arab Emirates are leaving OPEC. Something tells me this means...something. Probably something important.

Sådant förekom, men i betydligt mindre omfattning i Västafrika än vad många verkar tro. De ondskefulla vita djävlarna inhandlade svarta slavar från *svarta* slavjägare.

Kort sagt: den här resolutionen är bara trams. Ett utspel, helt enkelt. Och så går vi vidare.

Ghanas resolution, och så vidare

What Zelenskyy doing?

Credit: Charles J Sharp

The irony.

>>>Ukraine is using its drone expertise to help Middle East countries against Iran.

>>>Ukrainian officials are helping five Middle Eastern and Gulf countries counter attacks by Iranian drones, while the United States and European countries have requested support, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Friday.

>>>Ukraine is also looking into whether it can have a role in restoring security in the Strait of Hormuz amid the Iran war, he said.

>>>Ukraine has become a leading producer of cutting-edge, battle-tested drone interceptors that are cheap and effective in defending against Russia’s full-scale invasion. A Ukrainian official said Ukrainian military specialists are operating in the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait and Jordan.

>>>“Our teams are already working with five countries on countering (Iran’s) ‘Shahed’ drones — we have provided expert assessments and are helping build a defense system,” Zelenskyy said on X.b.

Ukraine is using its expertise to aid 5 countries against Iranian attacks

That was that, then

When Russia invaded Ukraine in 2022, the European Union stopped buying oil and gas from the former. Well, kind of. One long term project has been to replace Russian fossil fuels with Liquid Natural Gas (LNG) from Qatar. It seems these plans are now essentially fucked, after Iran bombed Qatar´s main LNG production facility. Repairs might take up to five years?!

Of course, Qatar´s geopolitical multi-vectoralism might be screwed, as well. If Saudi Arabia and the UAE enters the conflict on the American side, how long can Qatar stay outside it? They have, after all, been attacked. And they also have a rather large US military base on their territory...

As far as I can tell, there are two other major providers of LNG. One is the United States, currently under the control of one Donald J Trump. And the other is...Putin´s Russia. Things don´t look well, to be honest.

I took a little souvenir

Is this true? Overheard on X.

>>>Documents released by the US Department of Justice reveal that in early 2017, Jeffrey Epstein received three fragments of the Kiswa, the sacred cloth that covers the Kaʿbah in Makkah. The emails, dated between February and March 2017, show that the acquisition was coordinated by UAE businesswoman Aziza Al-Ahmadi with assistance from a Saudi contact, Abdullah Al-Maari.
>>>The Kiswa pieces were shipped to Epstein’s residence in the US Virgin Islands and were labeled as “artwork” while being processed through entities linked to Epstein. In correspondence from March 22, 2017, Al-Ahmadi emphasized the immense spiritual significance of the cloth, noting that it had been “touched by 10 million Muslims” during tawaf and “carried their prayers, tears, and hopes”. >>>The revelation has sparked widespread outrage due to the religious sanctity of the materials and their unauthorized handling.

To cheap to meter

More likely future?

End it already. This is beyond parody at this point.

A quote: "Elon Musk shared his vision of the future at the U.S.-Saudi Investment Forum in Washington, DC this week. According to the tech tycoon, work will be optional and money will lose all meaning as AI-powered robots take over every aspect of the economy over the next two decades."

Is it 2025? Or 1965? Seriously...

My blogging just took a very strange turn

What is a robot or robotic jockey in camel racing?

A robotic jockey is a small remote-controlled device used to replace human jockeys in camel racing. Here's how it works and why it was introduced:

What is a robotic jockey?

  • It’s a lightweight robot mounted on the camel’s back.

  • The robot is equipped with:

    • A whip mechanism (usually a soft padded whip) to encourage the camel to run faster.

    • A speaker or device to issue commands.

  • The robot is controlled remotely by the camel’s trainer or handler from the sidelines using radio signals.

Why robotic jockeys?

  • Historically, camel racing in places like the Middle East used young boys as jockeys, some as young as 4 or 5 years old.

  • Due to child labor concerns, safety, and international pressure, many countries banned the use of child jockeys.

  • Robotic jockeys were developed as a humane and ethical alternative.

  • They allow the sport to continue while protecting children and improving animal welfare.

Benefits of robotic jockeys:

  • Eliminates child exploitation.

  • Provides consistent control over camels.

  • Can be programmed or adjusted remotely for better performance.

  • Reduces risks of injury to jockeys.

Where are robotic jockeys used?

  • Mainly in Gulf countries like the UAE, Qatar, and Saudi Arabia.

  • The technology is continuously improving for better control and reliability.

If you want, I can share videos or more technical details about how robotic jockeys work!

Next level

Regardless of what you think of Trump´s foreign policy, this is some kind of next level sycophancy from his hardcore followers. I assumed these guys were pro-Israeli and anti-Muslim? But listen to them know...

Too much winning

Can anyone please explain this to me...

Trump demands that the EU member-states pays more for their military defenses. He also demands that the EU sends peace-keeping forces to Ukraine in case of a peace agreement with Russia. No American forces will participate in the operation. And yes, he has kicked out the EU from the talks with Russia in Saudi Arabia.

In response, the EU member-states are huffing and puffing about the exclusion...while nevertheless promising to increase their military spending. They have also stated that they are willing to send peace-keepers to Ukraine. In other words, they are actually *doing exactly what Trump demands from them*.

As for Ukraine (which is also excluded from the talks in Saudi Arabia), Zelensky is calling on Europe to form its own unified pan-European military. He has implied that territorial concessions might be necessary (read: Crimea will remain Russian). And apparently the "colonialist" and Trump-proposed plan to swap Ukrainian rare earth minerals for economic aid was originally proposed by the Ukrainian government!

So again I wonder: how is any of this not *actually* doing exactly what the United States wants, while pretending to protest loudly in the name of the "rules-based liberal world order" or whatever?

Yellowcake

Saudi Arabia wants to enrich uranium and export it. Nuclear power plants are also on the table. They also say that if Iran gets nuclear weapons, Saudi Arabia will follow suit.

Something tells me this isn´t the official US position. At least not of the current administration. What will Trump and Rubio say, I wonder? My impression is that Trump´s first administration had better relations with the Saudis than Biden´s ditto...

"Questions aheists can´t answer"

- We´re leaving this planet soon, just wait!

So the terrorist in Germany is an *atheist from Saudi Arabia*, not a Muslim? Wonderful. Now US Christian fundamentalists can use his car attack as an argument against atheism. Should I or you tell them that he was supposedly also a Greater Israel Zionist and a Trump supporter?

This is just the latest example of "the world is going mad"...

Plan B: Microplastics forever?

An interesting article from "Japan Times" about an underreported UN-sponsored conference in South Korea. Yes, it´s about plastics and microplastics. Some quotes from the article (which is linked below):

>>>The rising toll of plastic in the environment is impossible to ignore. In the developing world, plastic waste is clogging beaches and rivers and choking wildlife. A glut of trash in the Congo this month even shut down a hydroelectric dam, forcing power cuts. Plastics are also responsible for about 4% of global greenhouse gas emissions, according to the U.N.

>>>As plastic items break down, they become microplastics. These have now been found in human breast milk, brain tissue and blood. Research has linked a chemical used in some plastics, bisphenol F, to lower IQs in children.

>>>Microplastics are ubiquitous across ecosystems, detected everywhere from the depths of the Pacific Ocean’s Mariana Trench to the snow on Mount Everest. One recent study found that aerosolized plastic particles could even affect cloud formation and induce heavier rainfall.

>>>As renewable energy and electrification sap demand for oil, growth in petrochemicals is expected to help offset that, making the sector an important backstop for oil-producing countries and the fossil fuel industry. Petrochemicals’ share of total oil demand could nearly double by 2050, according to research firm BloombergNEF.

>>>"The oil and gas industry is looking at this as a Plan B, or an escape hatch, for surviving the energy transition,” said Dharmesh Shah, a senior campaigner for the Center for International Environmental Law, a nonprofit with headquarters in Washington, D.C., and Geneva.

>>>China is the world’s biggest producer of plastic and has a close trading relationship with Saudi Arabia, the source of much of its imported oil. State oil company Saudi Aramco is investing in plants in China that can process its crude into petrochemicals.

Plan B, indeed!

Could the world unite to end the plastic pollution crisis?

Fiaskot i Baku

Faith-promoting, therefore true?

For some reason, some Mormon apologists are using a sensational find of gold plates in Saudi Arabia as an argument in favor of the Book of Mormon?!

Not sure how that even follows, but the Mormon apologist linked above doesn´t believe in it. It seems the gold plates aren´t even a genuine Arabian artifact, but a crude forgery.

But...

The critical apologist says that when we judge whether or not an artefact is genuine, we have to look at "the archeological context". But she never applies that principle to, you know, the Book of Mormon...
