Summerland of the soul
"What is life REALLY like on the Astral Plane? Rare details" is a YouTube clip featuring Cyrus Kirkpatrick, an astral traveler and afterlife explorer (or purported such, if you´re of a more skeptical bent). Kirkpatrick´s channel is called Afterlife Topics and Metaphysics. It seems Kirkpatrick is finally back in the States, Tucson to be more exact, after being stuck somewhere in the Phillippines for most of the COVID pandemic. In this clip, he elaborates on his view of the afterlife, which he calls "the astral plane". He claims to have visited the afterlife during out-of-body experiences, and have interviewed its denizens.
Apparently, the inhabitants of the astral world call our world "the Earth plane", while there world is simply "Earth". It looks like an improved copy of our world. For instance, there are copies of our cities in the astral world, including astral versions of LA, Hong Kong, Jerusalem and even Tucson, Arizona. Paranormal abilities, such as telepathy, are considered normal. Teleportation and materialization of objects are skills that can be learned. Objects come and go, a house further down the street might not be there the next day, and this too is considered a normal thing. Time is less important, since important meetings can be held at once through telepathy, or people can bilocate (be at more than one place at the same time).
Many inhabitants of the astral create entire fantasy worlds through visualization. Ghosts exist on the astral plane - more exactly, the "ghosts" are physical people on the Earth plane, who are barely visible from the astral.
Technology is better on the other side. They had smart phones already 30 years ago! UFOs and aliens visit the astral Earth on a semi-regular basis, apparently without anyone raising an eyebrow.
A curious detail is that astral humans are potentially mortal. Surprisingly enough, there are both wars and conflicts in the afterlife, and people who join such "causes" can be hurt so badly that their astral bodies in effect die. The only way to fix the problem is by reincarnating on our Earth plane, whereby new astral bodies are created! Kirkpatrick therefore advises everyone to stay out of such conflicts...
A critic might argue that Kirkpatrick´s description of the astral plane sounds strangely dream-like, and that this proves it *is* a dream. Indeed, Kirkpatrick says in another YouTube clip that out-of-body experiences can be consciously induced during sleep paralysis! What skeptics take as proof against an afterlife, is here turned into a mechanism to explore a supposedly real afterlife state.
With that little observation, I close this review.
There is chocolate in heaven
"How to get the BEST Afterlife states" is a YouTube clip featuring Cyrus Kirkpatrick. I linked to some of his content before.
Kirkpatrick has a very "concrete" view of the afterlife. After the death of the physical body, the astral body is reborn in a kind of twin world to Earth, where life continues pretty much as normal, except better. For this reason, Kirkpatrick is sharply critical of mediums who claim that the afterlife state is in many ways *worse* than life on Earth (I´m surprised such people even exist), or "better" in a purely spiritual sense (we become luminous orbs of light).
In this clip, he takes on the former idea. Apparently, a certain medium have claimed that there is no chocolate in heaven, a depressive thought roundly mocked at Kirkpatrick´s web forum. Kirkpatrick believes that some astral bodies might simply be incompatible with life on the astral planes, presumably due to negative thoughts and actions while the individual was physically alive, and that this clouds their perceptions of "the other side". Such a person in effect becomes a kind of ghost at the astral plane, being unable to fully sense it (including the taste of astral chocolate).
In reality, the astral plane is just a small part of a vast multiverse, and the only limitations to experience are all in our own mind...
Putin´s pride
"Putin´s pride: Cossacks and the Church" is a documentary produced by the German TV broadcaster DW. On YouTube, it´s available with English voice-over. Despite its title, the documentary features both supporters and opponents of Putin. Many of the supporters are extremely upper class, go to exclusive schools and have high positions in the Russian business community. DW has interviewed "the Orthodox oligarch" Konstantin Malofeev, the man behind Tsargrad TV and St Basil the Great School. Tsargrad TV is explicitly monarchist-nationalist, and Malofeev un-ironically believes that Putin is an excellent substitute for a Czar! Anti-homosexual propaganda in another staple of Tsargrad TV. Meanwhile, the privileged students at the St Basil School study good manners, etiquette, dancing and Old Church Slavonic. The film team then visits the Shakhty Cossack School, a military school for teenage boys who want to enter the Russian military. They claim to be real Cossacks, i.e. descended from that particular cultural community. However, these are obviously not the freedom-loving Ukrainian frontier bandits of olden times, but 100% loyal Greater Russian nationalists!
The most sensational part of "Putin´s pride" features "40 times 40" (Sorok Sorokov), a group of literal storm troopers working for the Orthodox Church. When some dissidents in Moscow protested against the building of an Orthodox Church in Tofianka Park, these Orthodox bogatyrs quite literally beat them up, while the police looked the other way. "40 times 40" provide security at Orthodox masses, and the documentary shows them present at a celebration in a cathedral also attended by Russian prime minister Medvedev. The vigilantes are also shown training martial arts, and its suggested that their members are a motley crew of former hooligans and police officers.
The dissidents shown include the protesters at the park, Nemtsov supporters and Navalny supporters, including Navalny himself, who is quickly arrested by the police right in front of the TV crew. The Nemtsov supporters protest every night at the exact spot where the opposition leader was killed by Chechen criminals, supposedly at Putin´s orders.
"Putin´s pride" ends with an interview with a Putin supporter, a certain Timon or Timor, an anti-gay snitch who spends most of his free time hunting down LGBT teachers on the web, trying to get them fired by the schools where they work. DW claims that Timon has been barred from entering the US and the EU because of his activities!
All in all, a quite interesting production.

Yttrandefriheten är helig...i Ryssland. I Sverige? Not so much
Sveriges Radio attackerar en grupp forskare och akademiker som kritiserar Sveriges coronastrategi och lobbar andra länder i syfte att få dem att stoppa svenska medborgare från att resa dit.
Jag råkar anse att den här gruppen är absurd, men det verkligt absurda är väl ändå Sveriges Radios närmast "sovjetiska" reaktion. Så vitt jag vet har gruppen inte brutit mot några lagar...
Det är onekligen lite ironiskt att Sverige (som har en internationellt sett väldigt "mjuk" coronastrategi) jagar anhängare av auktoritära tvångsåtgärder med blåslampa.
Eller kanske inte så ironiskt. Oron för att "utländska påverkansoperationer" kan påverka "Sverige-bilden" handlade ursprungligen om Sveriges låt-gå-inställning under migrantkrisen. Och då attackerade etablissemanget även personer som bedrev inhemsk opinionsbildning mot regeringens linje.
Det är givetvis där skon klämmer. För ögonblicket handlar allt om corona, därav SR:s mellanspel om just corona och farliga Facebookgrupper. Nästa år (valår) kommer invandringsfrågan tillbaka igen, var så säkra.
Och förr eller senare kommer det att bli förbjudet att kritisera annat också. En eventuell hemlig Facebookgrupp som attackerar marknadshyror, kanske? Den hotar ju "enheten", "stabiliteten" och går säkert Putins ärenden!
Ännu ett exempel på "illiberal liberalism". Globo-liberalernas svar på krisen är ökad censur.

Don't freak, we're Sikh
Why do "blue check-marks" support the farmer protests in India?
Don't get me wrong. I support them myself. But why has it become a new form of virtue signaling to support these particular protests?
The farmers want higher government subsidies. How many blue check-marks have campaigned for higher subsidies to American farm country lately?
The angry Indian farmers also want cheaper gasoline, and the right to stubble burning, which causes air pollution in New Delhi.
A critic might argue that they want the Indian government to subsidize environmental destruction!
Of course, I think I know the reason why. The government of Prime Minister Modi is Hindu nationalist. They oppress Muslims. And blue check-marks love Muslims.
But there's one problem with that too. The protesting farmers are not Muslims. They are, ahem, Sikhs. And Sikhs *hate* Muslims...
Perhaps the Twitterati really should virtue signal about something else, rather than meddling in Indian politics. Save the whales, maybe?

4D Chess
It seems Russia's and China's gamble on Joe Biden didn't pay off. Unless they are playing some kind of 4D chess. After all, nobody's afraid of Old Uncle Joe, Kamala or Mama Pelosi.
I'm sure the Biden-endorsing "Revolutionary Communist Party" and "League for the Revolutionary Party" are happy, though.

Okej, har jag förstått det här rätt nu?
Eftersom miljörörelsen drivit igenom att kärnkraftverket Ringhals ska stängas, så har elpriset rusat i höjden.
Detta för att det råder elbrist. Sverige måste därför importera ful-el från kolkraftverk och liknande i Polen, Vitryssland och Ryssland. Alltså från en auktoritär katolsk regim nära allierad med Donald Trump, samt två länder inom Putte-sfären.
Men inte ens detta räcker. Och då måste jag sluta diska och dammsuga. Jag måste alltså uppoffra mig för att svensk pappersindustri ska kunna köpa ful-el från Putin, eftersom Miljöpartiet stängde Ringhals.
Och detta räddar på något sätt klimatet?!

Nix, det blir dammsugning imorron, och nästa vecka skaffar jag plasma-TV och installerar bredband. Har ni invändningar, ta upp dem med Ryska Federationens president!
