A more perfect union?

Another review of the flag of "Jefferson State"

This is the proposed flag of a proposed new U.S. state, known as the State of Jefferson (named after Thomas Jefferson). If created, its territory would comprise northern California and southern Oregon. Apparently, a modestly succesful movement for its establishment does exist in northern California. However, its unclear whether the county officials who back it really want to establish a 51st state, or are simply lobbying Sacramento for more self-government within the present day state of California. Proposals of this kind are as old as the Union, but usually make very little headway. Due to the rapidly polarized political situation in the United States, I hereby predict that they will eventually become more important. We may hear more about Jefferson in the future...
