Tintin forever




"The Adventures of Tintin" seems to have been translated to every obscure regional language in Hergé's native Belgium, and then some! Yes, this is Tintin in Picard Tournaisien, the dialect of Picard spoken in Tournai, one of Belgium's oldest cultural metropoles. Naturally, they had to render "The Castafiore Emerald" into Tournaisien, I mean Tintin is practically haute culture these days. And so is opera! As for Picard, this language is spoken in Hauts-de-France (which is indeed a region in northern France) and Walloon Picardy (in Belgium). On the web, I found an old news clip (?) featuring the printing of this comic album, so clearly *somebody* (at least in Tournai) was interested...
