I´m old enough to remember when a certain Orbán Viktor claimed that Hungary was a bulwark of Christendom against "the barbarians of the East".
He wasn´t refering to the Russians, alas, but to the Muslims.
Today, he is slavishly tailing the Muslims, too! Or more specifically Turkey. At first, I wondered how this can be possible. But then it struck me. Yes, the Magyars used to be a Turkic tribe. Their language? Probably kind of Turkic, too. We are talking genetic determinism here.
It seems the conversion of the barbar to Catholic Christianity failed in this case.
The above could be ironic. Or it might not.
