A review of Michael Wendler´s CD "Respekt".
This is so light, easy and down-right sophomoric pop
music, that it almost makes me scream!!!
And I don't mean out of joy.
The most kind comment I can come up with, is that Michael Wendler makes pop muzak rather than pop music. This might work in an elevator in some Berlin shopping mould, or in a dentist's waiting room in Düsseldorf.
But will it work at the U.S. market? Perhaps small kids might like this, and dance to it. (Wendler has recorded at least one song together with the cartoon bunny Schnuffel, but it's apparently not included here.)
The rest of us will probably just gasp at this king of puppy love pop.
