When Karl Barth got the question if he could summarize
his massive 13-volume super-tome “Church Dogmatics” (published 1932-67), the
elderly theologian replied: “Jesus loves me, this I know, 'cause the Bible
tells me so”. If Barth knows this, why on earth did he spend 35 years writing the
mother of all Talmudic commentaries? Sheesh.
