Wow, I´ve been purged by Amazon. I´M FINALLY FREE!

Earlier this week, on the same day it was announced that Amazon´s owner Jeff Bezos is the richest man in the world, something peculiar happened to my Amazon reviews.

They were all deleted.

All of them. All 5,000 of them. On both the US and UK sites of said vendor. They also disabled my ability to comment on the site, so my only way to communicate with my fans (all 5 of them) was to create this blog and direct them to it from my profile page, which I can still edit - ha, the Amazon Purge Team forgot that one!

Amazon has not responded to my mails, but their All-Knowing Computer has indicated that my reviews were - wait for it - "biased". LOL! Of course they were biased, you imbecillic morons. How can you write reviews without being "biased"???

At Reddit, there is a thread tracking the Amazon purge among the 10,000 top reviewers. It seems over 5,000 of them have been purged. I refuse to believe that so many top reviewers were fake, so I say Amazon has gone completely mustang. (My own review ranking is around 100,000, so obviously I´m not on Reddit´s list.)

That being said, I won´t wait until their cyber-bureaucracy comes to its senses. Shmuck you, Amazon Mighty River, you are up shit creek without a paddle!

Obviously, I will now repost all my "biased" reviews on this blog. OK, maybe not all of them. But many. And for the record, no hard feelings if you decide to actually buy the books under review from, ahem, Amazon...

After 12 years, I´m finally free!

  1. Its scandalous. You may well be one of the mist interesting reviewers they ever had.

But I checked my own reviews and they are still there. On the other hand I only have written 24, and I stopped writing there in 2004, so maybe they don't bother to check how very much biased I was.

  2. Jeff Bezos is obviously gaslighting you so that you'll not only doubt your sanity but your very existence. Its MK Ultra 2.0.

On the positive side, your reviewer ranking has increased from 43+ Million to 117,913.

  3. I recently got the following bizarre e-mail from the Amazon Review Moderator:

"We have determined that you have violated our Community Guidelines. As a result, we have suppressed all of your reviews, and you will no longer be able to post community content on Amazon. This includes Customer Reviews. Customer Reviews are meant to give customers unbiased product feedback from fellow shoppers. Because our goal is to provide Customer Reviews that help customers make informed purchase decisions, any accounts and reviews that could be viewed as advertising, promotional, or biased will be removed.

Your community privileges may have been revoked for one or more of the following reasons:
-- Elements of your account indicate a relationship to sellers, publishers, or other reviewers of the products you review.
-- Your reviews were posted in exchange for compensation, such as gift cards to purchase the product, product refunds, review swaps, or free or discounted products.
-- You requested free or discounted products in exchange for reviews.

We made this decision after carefully considering your account. This decision is final, and your community privileges will not be reinstated. (...) We cannot share any further information about this decision, and we may not reply to further emails about this issue."

Wrong on all three counts, of course. OK, listen very carefully for I shall say this only once: since Amazon has purged my reviews permanently, I will from now one not buy a single new product from Amazon. The decision is final and can´t be appealed!

    1. I got the same email after contacting them for months with no response. They deleted all of my 400+ reviews. They lost me as a customer and Prime member after this stunt.

  4. True, but they purged me from both the US and the UK sites, so chances are they would do the same in, say, Germany or India...
