From Pyatigorsk with love
There have been a number of very strange splinter groups from the ISKCON (Hare Krishna movement) in Eastern Europe.
Here is another one, apparently from Pyatigorsk in Russia (Pyatigorsk is a resort town in the Caucasus). The members look either completely brainwashed or very, very awkward, as if they *really* don´t want to be at the kirtan, satsang, or whatever this crazy disco is supposed to be.
Yes, disco. Hare Krishna disco.

En multipolär värld
Ovanstående är saxat från Aftonbladet. Det mest anmärkningsvärda är att påstått "västvänliga" (och relativt viktiga) länder som Saudi-Arabien, Förenade Arabemiraten, Brasilien och Indien de facto inte vill följa USA:s linje. Ett annat stort problem för västvärlden är givetvis att Kina inte vill göra det. Det är ett problem eftersom den kinesiska ekonomin är så sammanflätad med den västerländska.
Det är alltså inte riktigt som under kalla kriget. Då fanns det också två stormaktsblock, men USA hade betydligt bättre kontroll på sina allierade...
Observera dock att Ryssland strängt taget inte har ett helt enat stormaktsblock heller. De flesta stater som "borde" stödja Ryssland har valt "vänta och se". Inget av blocken är alltså särskilt starkt...
Det betyder antagligen att varken USA eller Ryssland kan bli globala hegemoner, inte ens om en av dem besegrar den andre i Ukraina.

The man who worshipped Trump
A short clip from some Indian TV channel, summarized in English below the clip on YouTube. A poor farmer in India apparently worshipped Donald Trump as a god or divine being. He certainly does carry out a "puja" (Hindu worship service) to an idol of the controversial POTUS. When Trump caught COVID, the farmer started fasting in solidarity and subsequently died of cardiac arrest. Weird any way you look at it...
Tantrism and terrorism
Two old articles from India Today (from 1977 and 1982) dealing with the controversial new religious movement Ananda Marga (which still exists). I admit that the brew of Tantrism, terrorism, anti-Marxism and anti-capitalism is an intriguing one. Including the inevitable rituals featuring human skulls...
I also appended a short piece from The Indian Express, "updated 2014".
The notorious Hilton bombing in Australia is hardly mentioned, though.
Ananda Marga: Spiritual saviors or tantrik terrorists?
The microvita paradigm
Ananda Marga is a controversial new religious movement, founded in India by Shree Shree Anandamurti. The group combines a Hindu-derived spiritual perspective with left-wing politics. At least during the 1970´s, they were also accused of terrorist acts in India, Australia and elsewhere. (The group denies involvement.) Ironically, in India (were they were briefly banned), the Anand Margis were sometimes accused of being on the CIA payroll!
The above clip is from a "Tantric" channel on YouTube, which is affiliated with Ananda Marga. It gives a very basic introduction to the spiritual worldview of the group.
The "scientism" of the "microvita" concept is probably connected to the fact that Ananda Marga was founded during the 1950´s. The idea is clearly non-scientific and occult, the microvita being a kind of vitalist monads that supposedly form carbon atoms. However, the microvita seem to be unaffected by material factors such as impetus, inertia, entropy, and so on. They are affected by "love", however, which is important for Ayurveda (alternative Hindu medicine).
It´s obvious that the microvita can´t make up material carbon atoms, at least not in any sense that makes scientific sense. Apparently, luminous bodies of angels and strange spirit-bodies of merpeople are all made up of this mysterious substance. Today, when science lacks the authority it once had, I would suspect that a NRM could and would sound more openly science-critical. An intriguing detail in the clip is that the dada seemingly denies the existence of ghosts (presumably a common Hindu superstition). He believes that ghosts are really projections of our own minds!
Not sure what to make of this content overall...

En sekt i arbetarrörelsens utkanter? Det hade varit riktigt roligt om sekternas sekt, Spartacist League, hade funnits i Sverige och gett ut någon halvt obegriplig bulletin. Deras artikel om *det här* hade varit en veritabel orgie i invektiv, halvkvädna antydningar, och rent förtal. Men okej, jag är f. d. sektolog...
