The art of the crazy

Credit: Francis C Franklin

There are *still* people who think every Trump U-turn is just "the art of the deal", "4D chess", "a deliberate strategy of deception", et cetera. Yeah, I used to think so, too. Say ten years ago. Maybe it was true...back then. Today, I think it´s obvious that The Man has lost it.

Biden was (of course) senile, but Trump seems to be both senile and crazy. Biden´s gaffes could also be countermanded, while nobody seems able to reign in the Donald. The only "positive" thing is that Trump´s madness might - just might - scare somebody. Delcy Rodriguez, perhaps? It certainly seems to have scared the beejesus out of Denmark! By contrast, Biden´s decline made the US look weak. But it seems the Iranian regime is calling the Don´s bluff.

Things might get really colorful from here on. And I don´t just mean the oil prices...

  1. Not sure if the world understands how perilous the situation is yet. How truly unfortunate the President of the United States is entering the final phase of narcissistic collapse, striking out every which way and threatening the very global stability that we presume as we wake up each and every morning. Senile and crazy indeed, with the power to unleash nuclear weapons. Think about it, he thinks he can do whatever he wants, and has said so multiple times. He said he could hit Kharg Island again "just for fun!"

The US Congress, House and Senate, are the primary bodies of authority and yet have set aside their duties and allowed the Executive branch to "run the show" literally, as if it is a Reality TV series. Trump's Executive Orders are not Law, merely preferences and/or suggestions. The government, allegedly a Democracy, is not run like a business, with a CEO issuing commands. That model was specifically denounced on the day the Declaration of Independence was put forth.
My main point is, this is no Joke. Our country is being run by incompetent and obsequious people who are literally stuffing their pockets with taxpayer money to prop up their various schemes and deficient personalities. Look at the idiocy of Trump's Cabinet. Robert Kennedy Jr.? Linda McMahon? (former CEO of World Wrestling Entertainment who as Education Secretary wants to abolish the very office she was appointed to.) Lutnick, Hesgeth, Rollins; I could go on and on.
Make no mistake, we are watching the collapse of the American "Dream" before our very eyes, each and every day. One could surmise (and many have) that Trump is indeed the harbinger of Evil to come, as every word from his mouth is either a lie, a threat or some form of self aggrandizement. However, there are many predictions he will not last in office through his term. The upcoming November US election results will have massive repercussions worldwide. Happy Sunday!

  2. Correction: "Whiskey" Pete Hegseth is Secretary of War (formerly Defense!) A former Fox News weekend anchor...another TV personality.
